Barcelona Rambles ------------- [Under Construction]
The side from Spain’s second city may evoke separatism in the crest and kit, but this - and the use of Catalan in the club name and motto - owes as much to the years when this was banned and is in direct contrast to the open-door policy towards nationality, ethnicity and political persuasion. This goes for supporters, staff and players.
The Mirador del Migdia ground has been the scene of hundreds of iconic domestic Spanish football moments, as well as triumphs in European football, and the participation in the KIT LEAGUE is expected to deliver hundreds more. Unashamedly sporting an Estelada look on the pitch, the fervent nationalism is mixed with pure sporting allegiance in the stands, with a common goal being the Catalans’ - the club’s rather than the people’s - success.
Now adding the city name to the reference to the famous thoroughfare and its connected streets, the club will face this new challenge with the same enthusiasm and never-say-die attitude that has coloured their entire history.
