Storyline

Laganbank FC were formed in the wake of the signing of the Belfast Agreement - also known as the “Good Friday Agreement” - with a view to being a club that brings together different cultures. Named after Belfast’s River Lagan and wearing the basic colours sported by both the Northern Ireland international side and the Republic of Ireland, the club has always been, and always will be, open to all.

Now cutting any inadvertent ties with the culturally diverse but technically defunct Laganbank district where the Riverside ground is situated, the renamed Belfast Riversiders - the enduring nickname promoted to official status - are a club not confined by or concerned with any land or sea borders whatsoever. The goal is inclusivity and on-pitch success, and making friends along the way.

Despite the eschewment of political and denominational leanings, the Riversiders remain proud and honored to represent, in Belfast, a vibrant capital city rich in history, architecture and the arts.

As the Belfast Riversiders forge ahead, they exemplify unity amid diversity. Unbound by geographical or political confines, their journey symbolizes the essence of inclusivity, reflecting a vibrant city's spirit through history and culture. On the pitch and beyond, they continue to create a legacy of friendship and success.
