Hong Kong Red Dragons ------------- [Under Construction]
The history of the Hong Kong Red Dragons Football Club began in 1997, the year of Hong Kong's handover from British to Chinese sovereignty, as a show of footballing unity between East and West. The founders of the team, a group of football enthusiasts from both cultures, saw the potential to interlace the city's diverse communities through sport.
Starting in local leagues, the Red Dragons became known for their distinctive red and gold kit, while the team's nickname - "Yan Lung" meaning "fire dragon" in Cantonese - reflected a certain fearlessness that helped their ascension to higher standards of football.
Now, as the club enters the KIT LEAGUE - with the Hong Kong and Chinese markets in mind - they will be competing in an international competition for the first time. Time will tell if they will realise their "Unite and Conquer" motto.
